Knife Threat During Snorkeling Trip
Tourist Scammed and Chased with Knife in Perhentian Islands Snorkeling Incident
In a TikTok video, a foreign woman described being scammed and threatened with a knife during a snorkeling trip in the Perhentian Islands. She and her sister were offered a snorkeling trip by a female restaurant employee for RM30 per person. However, after the trip, the boat operator demanded more money, claiming they had not paid the full amount. When the female employee arrived, she insisted they owed an additional RM70, leading to an argument. The woman agreed to pay another RM30, but the situation became dangerous when the employee’s friend appeared with a knife and chased them. The woman urged for written price lists to prevent misunderstandings and advised tourists to double-check all prices before making purchases.
