Zheng Siwei and Huang Yaqiong Capture Mixed Doubles Gold at Paris Olympics

China’s world number one mixed doubles pair, Zheng Siwei and Huang Yaqiong, triumphed at the Paris Olympics, winning their first Olympic gold medal in a one-sided final. They defeated South Korea’s Kim Won-ho and Jung Na-eun 21-8, 21-11. This victory marks China’s first badminton gold at the Paris Olympics and their fifth mixed doubles gold in Olympic history. It also brings China’s total gold medal count to 13. Zheng and Huang had been top seeds at the Tokyo Olympics but lost in the final, settling for silver. This time, they achieved their long-awaited Olympic victory.
