KUALA LUMPUR: The cause of death for the elderly woman found in a freezer in Taman OUG has been confirmed as chest injuries caused by blunt trauma, police said.
Preliminary Report by the Police
Kuala Lumpur police chief Comm Datuk Rusdi Mohd Isa provided updates on Thursday (Nov 21), citing the findings of a preliminary post-mortem. “Chest injuries due to blunt force trauma were identified as the cause,” he said.
Statements Collected for Investigation
So far, investigators have recorded nine statements, but the exact timeline of events is pending a full post-mortem report, Comm Rusdi explained.
Suspect’s Current Detention Status
The suspect, previously hospitalized, has since been discharged on Nov 20. He remains in custody at Brickfields police headquarters, with detention set until Nov 26.
Suspicions of a Long-Standing Crime
It is believed that the victim was killed by her son three years ago, and her body was hidden in the freezer. The suspect himself reportedly alerted authorities to the discovery.
