Hong Kong action icon Jackie Chan has spent decades wowing audiences with his fearless stunt work, and at 70 years old, he remains committed to doing his own stunts. Chan is currently filming Panda Plan, an action-comedy where he plays a character on a mission to save animals from a group of mercenaries.
During the filming of an intense fight sequence, Chan unexpectedly passed out. The incident occurred while Chan’s character was locked in a headlock, and the actor suddenly collapsed to the ground, leaving his scene partner and the film crew shocked.
Footage from behind the scenes shows Chan being assisted by his co-star, who quickly released him from the hold, and members of the crew who rushed to help him regain consciousness. Once he was able to sit up, Chan appeared confused, asking, “What’s going on?”
After being informed that he had fainted, the actor explained that it may have been caused by holding his breath too long during the scene. Despite the sudden collapse, Chan refused to take a long break and resumed filming shortly afterward, assuring everyone that he was fine.
For Chan, performing his own stunts has always been an essential part of his career. “I’ve built my reputation on doing stunts myself. It’s something that I’m passionate about, and I want to keep doing it for as long as I’m physically able,” he said.
The actor has endured numerous injuries throughout his career, but he remains undeterred by the risks. At a press conference last year, Chan remarked that as long as he can still perform physically, he will continue to take on action roles and perform his stunts.
