KUALA LUMPUR: The police have questioned nine individuals as part of their investigation into a bullying incident at Universiti Pertahanan Nasional Malaysia (UPNM).

Kuala Lumpur’s police chief, Comm Datuk Rusdi Mohd Isa, confirmed the police have recorded statements from the 19-year-old victim and eight other individuals. The police report was filed on November 8.
“We will also take the statement of the suspect, a senior cadet, later today at the Cheras police station. The case is under investigation based on Section 325 of the Penal Code,” Comm Rusdi said in a statement on Monday, November 11.
Call for Patience and Cooperation
Comm Rusdi urged the public to avoid speculating on the case. He emphasized the importance of allowing the police to conduct a thorough investigation.
“We encourage everyone to be patient as we carry out this process,” he added.

The incident involves bullying allegations at UPNM. The victim, a first-year student, reportedly suffered injuries after a roll call on October 21. The police report, filed on November 8, outlines the details.
Defence Minister’s Statement
Defence Minister Datuk Seri Mohamed Khaled Nordin stated that any form of bullying is unacceptable.
“These incidents harm the reputation of UPNM and other higher learning institutions. We will fully cooperate with the police throughout their investigation,” he said.
