Kunlavut Advances to Men’s Singles Final, Remains Humble

Thai men’s singles world champion Kunlavut continued his winning streak by defeating Malaysia’s Lee Zii Jia 21-14, 21-15 to reach the men’s singles final at the Paris Olympics. This victory makes Kunlavut the first Thai badminton player to win an Olympic medal. Kunlavut expressed his joy after the match but humbly stated that he remains an “ordinary player.” He emphasized the importance of taking things step by step and not putting too much pressure on himself. Kunlavut acknowledged the high expectations from Thai fans but considered this experience valuable regardless of the outcome. His victory follows a strong performance against China’s world number one Shi Yuqi in the quarterfinals.
