KUALA LUMPUR: Eight individuals, including a doctor, have filed a class action lawsuit seeking RM60 million in compensation from Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim and the World Health Organization (WHO). The plaintiffs accuse the entities of being responsible for health complications and deaths following Covid-19 vaccination.
Writ of Summons Filed in October
The legal action, initiated on October 23, involves plaintiffs aged between 26 and 77. The writ was filed by the law firm Messrs Mohamad Zainuddin & Co. In total, 25 defendants are named in the lawsuit, including the Malaysian government, Anwar Ibrahim, and the WHO.
High-Profile Government Figures Targeted
Other notable defendants include former prime ministers Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin and Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob, the Health Ministry, and WHO’s Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus.
Additional Government and Police Officials Named
Additionally, the lawsuit targets prominent figures such as Health Minister Datuk Seri Dr. Dzulkefly Ahmad, his predecessors, and senior government and police officials, among others.
