Police Operation Results in Multiple Arrests
JOHOR BARU: Johor police arrested eight people for driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs at a roadblock set up along Jalan Daya and Jalan Mutiara Emas Utama.
Details of the Operation
The “Ops Mabuk” operation was conducted between 1am and 5am on Tuesday (Nov 26) from 1am to 5am. According to Johor Baru South OCPD Asst Comm Raub Selamat, six arrests were made for driving with excessive alcohol levels. The other two suspects were apprehended for reckless driving against the traffic flow and testing positive for illegal substances.
Further Legal Action and Court Appearance
The suspects have been released on bail and will face court proceedings in Johor Baru at a later date.
Vehicle Inspections and Violations
A total of 116 individuals were inspected, with 97 vehicles checked during the operation, which led to 40 summonses for various infractions, including driving without a valid license and running red lights.

ACP Raub emphasized the importance of safe driving practices, noting that driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs endangers everyone on the road.
